Silicon Valley Comic Con began in 2016 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, founded with Steve Wozniak and Stan Lee, and brought comics, science fiction and technology together in a way no other convention did. It was renamed SiliCon in 2020, held its last edition in 2022, and its 2023 show was cancelled. If it returns, we will be ready. Meanwhile San Jose still has busy fan conventions at the same venue: FandomCon Silicon Valley in the spring and GalaxyCon San Jose at the end of summer, which in 2026 ran April 10-12 and August 28-30. The McEnery Convention Center sits in downtown San Jose, with a VTA light rail stop at its door and Caltrain and BART a short ride away.
